Amid ill-advised Rafah invasion, 'Israel' further isolated, divided
The Jewish People Policy expresses worry over 40% of Israelis now being uncertain about "Israel" being able to achieve "total victory" over Hamas.
"Israel" has now been faced with the greatest threat by the United States after the latter warned that weapons would be reduced if a full-fledged attack on Rafah occurred, an Israeli commentator revealed.
Dahlia Scheindlin writes in The Guardian that Israeli claims of destruction of Hamas by entering Rafah are even being questioned by Israeli experts, citing a former Mossad official who said it would be “tactical at best.”
Scheindlin calls Benjamin Netanyahu's claims of "total victory" come at a price, citing how previous claims of "total victory" have done little to destroy the Palestinian Resistance, emphasizing that claims of targeting 10,000-14,000 fighters are conflagulated.
The Jewish People Policy recently found that over 40% of Israelis are now uncertain about "Israel" being able to achieve "total victory" over Hamas.
In addition, she draws attention to the fact that the fate of Israeli captives remains unknown as "Israel" has brought about "global isolation", due to this "total victory" policy, which has forced certain nations to take action on arms shipments, like Canada and Italy.
Turkey on its end, has drawn a trade ban, calling it "an economic and diplomatic bombshell."
She also adds that the mere accusation of genocide and potential arrest warrants for Israeli officials further reinforces "Israel's" position as a "pariah, manifested in the campus protests sweeping the US, UK and Europe."
"The aim of destroying Hamas as a military threat to Israeli civilians and sovereign territory may have been justified in itself; but the government has yet to demonstrate that it can achieve this aim," she notes, over 35,000 Palestinian martyrs later.
According to her, the evidence indicates nothing but failure as Israelis continue to be displaced in the north, the mental health of settlers and their economy is shattered, and more IOF troops are being killed to achieve a "total victory" that will never come.
52% of Israelis do not believe Rafah aggression will bring victory
After a captive agreement fell through last week, Scheindlin expresses that a real end to the war must mean saving the lives of captives.
Israeli polls have shown that a majority of settlers want a captive agreement rather than more aggression in Rafah. A Channel 13 poll indicated that 52% of Israelis do not believe a Rafah invasion will bring “total victory", while another poll showed that nearly half of Israelis support a captive agreement that will ensure the release of all Israeli captives in Gaza in exchange for a complete end to the war and the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners.
She believes that ending the aggression will not only repair ties with the US but also force the occupation to plan for post-war Gaza, in exchange for cooperation from Arab nations and a possible Saudi normalization agreement and a potential Palestinian state.
"The cruel truth is that for most Israelis right now, Palestinian lives are an afterthought; but the accurate truth is that their fates are intertwined." She believes that "Israelis are no different from US soldiers in Iraq" and that captives will be traumatized by the killing of Palestinians they witnessed firsthand in Gaza.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Wednesday that the number of Palestinians killed in the ongoing Israeli genocide in the Strip since October 7 has now reached 35,034, with 78,755 injured as the war marks its 219th day.
The Israeli occupation persists in its aggression against the Gaza Strip for the 219th consecutive day, committing massacres against civilians. This coincides with an escalation of its operations in Rafah, located in the southern part of the Strip.
"Israel" may choose an alternative path, she notes. Instead, the IOF could prioritize the captives and save Palestinian lives, therefore preserving "Israel's" worldwide ties.
"It’s the fetishized commitment to total victory that is becoming Israel’s total defeat."
Netanyahu's 'genocidal methods' would make 'Hitler jealous': Erdogan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday that the Israeli occupation is conducting the same practices in Gaza employed by Nazi Germany in its wars and that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has surpassed Adolf Hitler in his "genocidal methods".
"Is it possible to look at what Israel has inflicted on the people of Gaza for months and see it as legitimate for Israel to bomb hospitals, kill children, oppress civilians, and condemn innocent people to hunger, thirst, and lack of medicine under various excuses? What did Hitler do in the past? He oppressed and killed people in concentration camps," Erdogan said in an interview for Greek newspaper Kathimerini.
"Wasn't Gaza turned into an open-air prison not only after Oct. 7, but also for years beforehand? Weren't the people there condemned to limited resources for years, almost like a concentration camp? Who is responsible for the most brutal and systematic mass killings in Gaza after Oct. 7?"
"Netanyahu has reached a level that would make Hitler jealous with his genocidal methods. We are talking about Israel; which targets ambulances, hits food distribution points, and opens fire on aid convoys," he said.
This is not the first time that the Turkish President likens Netanyahu to the late Nazi leader.
In December, Erdogan said there is "no distinction" between Netanyahu's actions in the attacks on Gaza and the deeds of Hitler.
"How do you (Netanyahu) differ from Hitler? These (actions) will make us look for Hitler as well," he said then. "Is there anything Netanyahu does that is less than Hitler? No."
Months later, Turkey announced suspending trade agreements with the occupation entity with the toll of martyrs in Gaza due to the ongoing war nearing 35,000.
