Amir-Abdollahian in Beirut: Ready to provide Lebanon with fuel
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian confirms from Beirut Iran's readiness to supply Lebanon with fuel and to rehabilitate its electric power plants.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian confirmed Tehran's readiness to "supply Lebanon with fuel and rehabilitate its electric power plants based on an agreement with the government."
Amir-Abdollahian made the announcement during a joint press conference with his Lebanese counterpart Abdullah Bou Habib on Friday, confirming from Beirut that "the Islamic Republic of Iran will always remain loyal to the Lebanese Republic in good times and bad."
The Iranian minister pointed out that he discussed with the Lebanese minister "means of strengthening relations between the two countries on the political, economic, and touristic levels."
He also stated that an agreement was reached with the Lebanese minister to establish bilateral relations between the two countries, emphasizing his country's willingness to abide by its commitments to supply fuel to Lebanon.

Amir-Abdollahian stressed that Iran is ready to build and rehabilitate electric power plants in Lebanon based on an agreement with the government.
Also, the Iranian minister stated that the Islamic Republic supports the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance to Israeli aggression, emphasizing that Tehran does not interfere in Lebanon's domestic affairs and welcomes the convergence and dialogue of all political currents.
He also expressed complete confidence that Lebanon's political parties have enough awareness and experience to find a way out of the presidential vacuum.
For his part, Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib pointed out the serious attempts to benefit from Iranian aid to Lebanon, highlighting that "there are, of course, external obstacles and pressures."
Iran welcomes dialogue between Syria and Turkey
On a regional level, Amir-Abdollahian expressed his satisfaction with the dialogue between Syria and Turkey, believing that it could "reflect positively on the interests of the two countries."
He noted that at the recent Baghdad summit, Iran and Saudi Arabia reached an agreement on joint dialogue, which will eventually lead to the normalization of relations.
In a related development, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that plans are being developed for the Iranian President to visit Syria and Turkey in the near future.
Earlier, Amir-Abdollahian and Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Ayman Sosan discussed in a meeting in Tehran the latest developments in Syria and the region, and ways to develop bilateral ties between the two nations.
The Iranian FM stressed the importance of the outstanding relations between Iran and Syria and the necessity of maintaining economic cooperation and expanding it between the two countries in order to better establish stability, security, and peace in the region.
