Amir-Abdollahian: Tehran is being asked to stop support for Palestine
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian says from India that in private negotiations, Iran is asked to stop supporting Palestine in order to relieve pressure against Tehran.
In a meeting with men of religion, during a visit to India, Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, said that Western countries know full well that there is no place for a nuclear bomb in the Islamic creed, and that Iran is not looking to build one.
"Nevertheless, they continue to pressure us."
Amir-Abdollahian noted that despite all the pressures being exerted against Iran, it has not backed away from its principles and Islamic tenets.
Iran's Foreign Minister also said that in private negotiations, Iran is asked to stop supporting Palestine in exchange for decreasing pressure against it. During previous negotiations, Tehran was asked to recognize "Israel" in exchange for the US announcing that it has no problem with Iran.
However, Iran believes that support for the Palestinian people and the liberation of Al-Quds are obligations, the top diplomat continued.
Iran's Foreign Minister said on Monday that his country will not relinquish its rights, not in negotiations, and not in the Palestinian cause in defense of the Palestinian people.
During his meeting with leaders and officials from Palestinian and Lebanese Resistance movements, Amir-Abdollahian said that the Islamic Republic will never back down from its principlist stances.
He further stressed that Tehran will continue to support the Resistance and the struggle of the Palestinian people for liberation, considering the "normalization of Islamic countries with the Zionist entity" to be a betrayal of Palestine, and is "something they will regret doing."
