IRGC chief reaffirms Iran solidarity with Palestine, Palestinians
IRGC chief Major General Hossein Salami says the International Day of Al-Quds is a gift from the late leader, Imam Khomeini, who made Al-Quds and Palestine a priority for the Islamic world.
The festival organized by the Palestinian Committee to commemorate the International Day of Al-Quds kicked off Thursday in the Gaza Strip, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, Hossein Salami spoke on the occasion from occupied Palestine.
"Al-Quds day is a gift from the late Imam Khomeini, who made Al-Quds and Palestine a priority for the Islamic world," Major General Salami said, stressing that this day unified the Islamic world in its support for the Palestinian cause, and "Imam Khomeini raised the banner of support for Palestine and formulated Al-Quds Force, which became one of the main defenders of [the Palestinian] cause."
The latest developments in occupied Palestine, Salami said, showed "the brutality of the Israeli entity and the strength of the valiant resistance."
He also noted that the resistance fighters turned the nation into an "unwavering, capable nation, capable of making change and shifting the balance of power in the region."
The senior Iranian official stressed that the resisting Palestinian people, who confronted the brutal Israeli aggressions, became "the pinnacle of resistance and steadfastness, and they are a people that shifted the balance of power and were able to uphold their resistance [against the Israeli occupation] despite all their suffering."
According to Major General Salami, the resistance, though its valiant acts, was able to prove that settlements signed as the result of negotiations, such as the Camp David Accords, the Oslo Accords, the Sharm El Sheikh Memorandum, and other agreements "did not and will not lead to the liberation of Palestine, and they are a mere trick."
"These settlement agreements are a conspiracy formulated to obstruct and weaken the resistance, buy time, and divert the public," he said, noting that the Palestinian people have realized that the only way for them to achieve their goals is through resisting the Israeli occupation.
"The Zionist entity cannot regain its position, for Palestine today became capable, and it is nearing victory," he stressed.
He touched on Seif Al-Quds Battle, saying it proved the strength of the resistance, for even the missiles of the Iron Dome, were not capable of intercepting the resistance's rockets during the battle.
Salami also commented on normalization with the Israeli occupation, explaining that the reactionary regimes in the region and the world wanted to rely on each other through normalizing with the Zionist leaders, and he told normalizers, "you cannot rely on this spider web, and it really will fall apart and crumble."
The Iranian military official told the Palestinian people and the Palestinian resistance factions that the only means of liberating Palestine was resistance, which he underlined needed unity.
"The aggressions of the Zionist entity will not remain without response," Salami stressed, noting that one resistance fighter led to the collapse of its security apparatus, "which is proof that it is nearing its collapse." He also added that the Al-Aqsa mosque was a prime example of Islamic unity.
He went on to hail the Palestinians who fought against the Israeli occupation in defense of Al-Aqsa. "Supporting Palestine is part of our teachings, and this support for the Intifada and the Palestinian cause is ongoing."
"Do not grow weak nor tired... We are with you, we support you, and we will always be by your side," Salami concluded his address by telling the Palestinian people.
