Amir-Abdollahian: To start strategic cooperation with Russia soon
In a joint press conference with Russian FM Sergey Lavrov, Amir-Abdollahian said that Iran will not tolerate Israeli actions.
In a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held on Wednesday, in Moscow, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian announced that a strategic cooperation document will be signed with Russia soon, asserting that Iran and Russia have similar stances on the issues in the region.
On the Palestinian cause, Amir-Abdollahian stated that Iran has clear stances on Palestine and will not tolerate any Israeli actions. As for the Syrian file, he highlighted that there is a mutual agreement on the importance of solving this issue, adding that his country plans to hold a meeting with the foreign ministers of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries, with the participation of Moscow, in the near future.
Amir-Abdollahian brought up the Fatehan-e Kheybar war games, stating that Azerbaijan has carried out 6 maneuvers with foreign parties so far, while Iran carried out only one.
On another level, he expressed his discomfort as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) avoided condemning the terrorist attack in Karaj.
At the conference, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that Iran is ready to resume negotiations in Vienna on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as soon as possible.
