The Yemeni Ansar Allah movement on Tuesday condemned the United States for labeling Yemeni naval operations against Israeli and Israeli-bound ships in support of Gaza as "terrorism".

The group indicated that the US move was an attempt to distract the world from the suffering of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

"The primary purpose of the designation is to divert the world public opinion from the full-fledged terrorism that the Israeli regime is exercising in Gaza," the Ansar Allah political bureau said in a statement.

The movement affirmed that the Yemeni military operations "are completely of ethical nature and aimed at protection of human rights and self-determination."

The statement emphasized that Ansar Allah's demands are reasonable and clear that military operations will stop once the Israeli invasion of Gaza ends and the severe blockade on its residents is lifted.

In a related context, the group stressed that "Yemen will continue its struggle to end the hypocritical approach pursued by the United States and its allies on human rights."

"We praise pro-Palestine encampments and protests that continue to spread in universities across the United States and Western countries, where participants demand an end to the ongoing genocide in Gaza," it added.

Following the Palestinian Resistance's Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7 and the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, Yemenis have openly supported the Palestinian people and their Resistance by launching a maritime blockade on the entry of Israeli-occupied ports.

US support for Israeli crimes is the "real terrorism": Ansar Allah spox

On his part, Ansar Allah's spokesperson Mohammad Abdul-Salam condemned the United States' support for "Israel's" actions in Gaza, calling them the "crimes of the century" and labeling them as the "real terrorism" that threatens global peace.

His remarks followed the US Treasury's imposition of sanctions on Ansar Allah leaders and Chinese entities allegedly involved in facilitating the purchase and financing of weapons for the Yemeni naval military operations.

Abdul-Salam affirmed in a post on X that Yemen's naval military operations aim to "support the victim in the face of the American and Israeli executioner."

He emphasized that while American terrorism can spread chaos globally, it will not be able to subdue free nations and peoples committed to confrontation and liberation.

The Yemeni official called on the world "to break the circle of silence and raise its voice in the face of America to stop its bloody and brutal terrorism with its open and blatant support for Israel against a small besieged Strip where destruction and blood are spreading from all sides."
