Any ground invasion into Gaza would be perilous for "Israel": Report
A Sky News military analyst confirms that launching a ground invasion into the Gaza Strip is "very risky" for the occupation.
A ground invasion into Gaza is considered a "very high risk" for "Israel", according to Sky News' military analyst Sean Bell, who added that there are dangers around every corner.
The Israeli military has gathered soldiers and tanks along the border, fueling speculation of a potential invasion. However, Israeli leaders have not yet confirmed any decision. In light of this, analysts suggest that a ground invasion could be launched within a matter of hours or days.
Bell, who served in the British Royal Air Force and left in 2012 as Air Vice Marshal, stressed that sending troops into populated areas in Gaza represents a “high-risk strategy” for Israel.
He said "Urban fighting is very, very dangerous - every corner, every doorway, every window might hide a potential threat," suggesting that the IOF will be very exposed.

On the same note, he elaborated that "Any ground offensive into the urban districts of Gaza would be a very high-risk strategy for Israel."
"Hamas fighters will not be wearing uniform, so will blend in with the 2.3 million residents of Gaza, making it very difficult to identify and target them all," according to him.
On the other hand, he stressed that "Hamas's offensive was very well planned, they will also have been aware of what options would be available to the IDF by way of reprisal. So, Hamas will be ready."
IOF fear escalation
Earlier, Palestinian Resistance sources told Al Mayadeen Net about the possible Israeli plans for ground invasion against Gaza, the problems that hinder the success of any possible operation of this kind, and the details of the battlefield situation in light of the Israeli mobilizations.
Al Mayadeen Net's sources confirmed that "what is happening behind enemy lines leads to obstructing and delaying the Israeli ground operation in the Gaza Strip."
"There is a real fear of advancing, and some troops are still 20 kilometers away from Gaza and the [Gaza] envelope settlements," the sources added.
The sources pointed out that "the American and Israeli plans are to try to open certain gaps on land and at sea in the Gaza Strip, for the massive entry of tanks and soldiers."
However, the available information confirmed that the Americans and Israelis "cannot advance for fear of a major trap in one of the axes, which will lead to major losses."
Earlier, the military spokesperson for al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, described the threat of an Israeli ground invasion into the Gaza Strip as ridiculous in light of how their troops faired throughout the operation, emphasizing that the Resistance is prepared for all possibilities to defend its people.
Furthermore, he confirmed that the issue of settlers being held captive has strategic significance. The captives have a price of their own, and "the enemy must prepare to pay the price."
