From Tehran, Araghchi praised Berri’s role in “strengthening national cohesion against Zionist conspiracies and pressures,” describing it as “valuable and exemplary.”
The Iranian FM also stressed the importance of vigilance by the Lebanese government, public, and political factions against repeated Israeli ceasefire violations, emphasizing the need to safeguard Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He further underscored that Iran’s support for the Lebanese people and Resistance will continue, noting Tehran’s ongoing consultations with influential regional states to counter what he called the expansionist policies of the Israeli occupation.
Iran always supported Lebanon's decisions: Ghalibaf
Earlier on Sunday, Lebanese MP and aide to Parliamentary Speaker Nabih Berri, Ali Hassan Khalil, met with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf in Tehran.
Ghalibaf stated that Iran sees no distinction between different communities in Lebanon, emphasizing, "We consider the enemies of the Islamic world to be our enemies," adding, "The Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported national decisions in Lebanon and emphasizes maintaining peace in the country."
Highlighting ongoing regional tensions, Ghalibaf stressed that the Israeli entity has not respected the ceasefire, noting, "Whenever the Zionist regime has had a chance, it will definitely continue its crimes and expansionism."
Yesterday, on November 15, Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, also met with Ali Hassan Khalil.
According to an SNSC statement, Larijani and Khalil discussed recent regional developments, focusing on “the actions of the Zionist entity in southern Lebanon and its repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement.”
