  • Archbishop Hanna: Defending Al-Quds is responsibility of all Arabs
Archbishop Atallah Hanna, Archbishop of Sebastia for the Greek Orthodox in Al-Quds

The Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Sebastia in occupied Al-Quds told Al Mayadeen that what is occurring in Al-Quds is a heinous crime against the Palestinian people and the city.

During an interview for Al Mayadeen, the Archbishop stated that the Israeli occupation is attempting, through the "Flag March", to claim Al-Quds as a Jewish city.

He stressed that Al-Quds will remain an Arab Palestinian city regardless of the settlers' or occupation's attempts.

The Archbishop considered that defending Al-Quds is the responsibility of all Arabs, not just Palestinians or residents of Al-Quds alone.

Archbishop Hanna declared, "We will remain in Al-Quds, and they will not be able to undermine our identity and the authenticity of our Muslim and Christian roots."

Today, 1,678 settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and encircled the worshippers inside Al-Qibli prayer hall.

Palestinian leaders and factions affirmed that the Palestinian people will continue to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque, while resistance factions earlier warned the Israeli occupation from committing any foolishness by allowing the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque and carrying out the "Flag March", stressing that this scheme would detonate the regional situation.

Israelis have prepared for their "Flag March" today, amid confrontations and defiance from Palestinians.
