Arrest Warrants Issued Against Participants in Erbil Normalization Conference
Al-Karkh First Investigation Court issues an arrest warrant against Wissam Al-Hardan and others for their role in calling for normalization with "Israel" during the Erbil conference.
The Media Center of the Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq announced that al-Karkh First Investigation Court issued arrests warrants against Wissam Al-Hardan and several others for their role in calling for normalization with "Israel" during the "Peace and Reclamation" conference. The conference was held in Iraqi Kurdistan region's capital city, Erbil.
The media center added that legal measures will also be taken against the rest of the participants, once known their full names.
In addition, the al-Anbar Investigation Court issued arrest warrants against Al-Hardan and other personnel based on a complaint submitted by the Governor of al-Anbar.
This comes after al-Hardan, who is the head of the Sahwa movement, gave a speech in which he publicly called for normalizing relations between Iraq and "Israel." The speech was in the presence of tribal figures from the governorates of Baghdad, Mosul, Anbar, Salah al-Din, Babil, Diyala.
