In Washington, Israeli Security Minister Benny Gantz calls for an array of actions against Tehran.
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin met with Israeli Security Minister Benny Gantz met in Washington, on Thursday, to discuss countering Iran’s nuclear weapons program among other regional and international developments.
According to a readout issued by the US Defense Ministry, "the two leaders discussed the [Biden] administration’s commitment to preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and addressing Iran’s destabilizing actions throughout the region."
During the meeting, "both parties agreed on the need to address the recent increase in terror attacks in Israel,” according to the readout.
On his account, Austin emphasized the importance of reducing tensions in Al-Quds and occupied West Bank.
Furthermore, the Defense Secretary reiterated the Biden administration's support for a two-state solution that he claimed provides security for Israelis and Palestinians.
Austin also discussed with Gantz the United States' support for Ukraine during the meeting.
At the time, “Israel” fears that reviving the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers will put it in a position of strategic disadvantage adding to its existential concerns and paranoia.
