Azerbaijan Considers Buying Arrow 3 Missile System from "Israel"
Israeli media has reported that several sources said Azerbaijan is contemplating buying the Israeli Arrow 3 missile system after last year's conflict between Baku and Yerevan and a series of successful tests in Alaska.
In light of the rising tensions in the southern Caucasus, Azerbaijan is considering buying the Arrow 3 missile system from the occupation, the "Israel Hayom" said.
"If the deal materializes, then Arrow 3, developed by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), will be added to the wide range of Israeli-made military equipment in Baku, including the IAI Harop and the LORA missiles," the newspaper quoted a source as saying.
"Israel Hayom" saw weighing on such purchase indicates a change in the Azeri military conception following the Nagorno-Karabakh war and its achievements, i.e., moving from attack and improving defense.
Taking the particularly expensive cost of each Arrow 3 interception missile into consideration, such a deal would be beneficial for "Israel"; some USD $827,000 is the estimated cost of one missile.
The Arrow 3 system underwent a series of tests in Alaska, the United States, where it successfully intercepted 'enemy' rockets in 2019. Such deal would allow the occupation to test the interception system on the ground, as Azerbaijan had fierce battles with Armenia last year over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region.
Azerbaijan revealed that it does not need mercenaries, as it has close military ties with "Israel." However, Baku denied any Israeli involvement in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Iranian officials had previously reported that Tehran received intelligence on there being 1,000 Israeli operatives and 1,800 ISIS operatives on Azeri soil.
