Bagheri Kani highlighted the stable relations between Iran and Lebanon as crucial for regional stability, describing the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon as a cornerstone of peace in the area.
In his meeting with Bou Habib, he said that they have discussed the situation in the Gaza Strip and the need for all states to take collective measures to stop Israeli crimes.
Elsewhere, the Iranian minister revealed that they "studied the urgency of holding an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to take a unified stance regarding the war on Gaza."
On his part, the Lebanese foreign minister confirmed that Tehran and Beirut share "convergent viewpoints regarding the dangers of the continuity of war on Gaza and the ongoing crimes against the Palestinians, which undermines the chances of just and comprehensive peace in the region."
He praised Bagheri Kani's "keenness on continuing periodic consultations with us over the regional affairs and international developments, in addition to the ties between the two countries."
Bou Habib said he "stressed Lebanon's position rejecting war" and "explained the Lebanese vision on finding durable solutions that restore calm and stability to south Lebanon through a comprehensive basket that guarantees the full implementation of UN Resolution 1701."
