Bagheri Kani, Mora discuss lifting economic sanctions on Iran
Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani reveals that nuclear negotiations and lifting the sanctions topped discussions with Enrique Mora, the EU's deputy top diplomat.
Deputy Foreign Minister and top nuclear negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani held talks with Enrique Mora, the EU's deputy top diplomat, in the Qatari capital.
"Had a serious and constructive meeting with @enriquemora_ in Doha. We exchanged views and discussed a range of issues including negotiations on sanctions lifting," Kani said in a post on his Twitter account.

The meeting took place on June 12, according to Germany's Foreign Ministry, and focused on Iran's nuclear program.
At the time, IRNA reported that Bagheri Kani was in Abu Dhabi to discuss the promotion of bilateral cooperation and to evaluate regional issues with officials.
The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2015 granted Iran sanctions relief in exchange for restrictions on its nuclear program, ensuring that Tehran could not create a nuclear weapon, which it has long denied seeking.

On-again, off-again talks to resurrect the deal with France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Russia, and China, as well as the United States, have faltered in recent months.
Concurrently, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanani said the country is still in indirect talks with the US about the issue.
Moreover, the Spokesperson explained that while Tehran does not trust the West and has developed its own policy with the aim of "neutralizing sanctions", it remained that it has "never stopped the diplomatic processes with the aim of removing the cruel sanctions."
