Biden Impeachment Probe: Republicans demand records related to Hunter
Republicans have sped up Joe Biden's impeachment case by demanding records and documents related to son Hunter's deposition.
US House Republicans have accelerated the impeachment investigation made against President Joe Biden regarding documents related to the deposition of his son, Hunter Biden.
Hunter had been the focal point of skepticism about controversial international dealings, a move Joe Biden slammed as a "baseless" stunt.
The chairs of the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees, Jim Jordan and James Comer, have ordered that the White House send forward "all documents and communications sent or received by employees of the Executive Office of the President regarding the deposition of Hunter Biden," to detect whether Joe Biden had influenced, obstructed or impeded the committee's advancement, concerning the potential criminal acts involving his son, as well as his foreign business dealings.
“In light of an official statement from the White House that President Biden was aware in advance that his son, Hunter Biden, would knowingly defy two congressional subpoenas, we are compelled to examine as part of our impeachment inquiry whether the President engaged in a conspiracy to obstruct a proceeding of Congress," the Republican chairmen stated in a formal letter to the White House.
The aforementioned statement was stimulated by comments made by White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre to the press on December 13, during which she said the President was fully aware of "what his son was going to say [concerning his family cashing in on the Biden name]."

The Bidens' cry for a getaway car
Hunter Biden, in his own defense, and in defiance of US lawmakers, insisted on giving a public testimony to avoid having his words twisted by Republicans. Republicans, in turn, revealed that they would consider contempt proceedings.
Right after, the formal impeachment inquiry was voted on.
The vote of 221 to 212 was along strict party lines, with every Republican voting for it and every Democrat against it.
Conservatives accuse Biden's troubled son Hunter of influence-peddling. The allegations refer to incidents that took place before his father became president, and the White House has stressed there has been no wrongdoing.

Biden himself responded immediately after the vote, accusing Republicans of stalling on a multitude of key fronts while obsessing over a desire to score political points against a president running for reelection in 2024.
"Instead of doing anything to help make Americans' lives better, they are focused on attacking me with lies," Biden said in a lengthy statement.
