US President Joe Biden said he plans to run for the 2024 presidential elections but is not ready to announce it yet.

"I plan on running... but we're not prepared to announce it yet," he told NBC before the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Last November, White House Spokesperson Jen Psaki confirmed US President Joe Biden intends to run for a second term in 2024.

Both Biden and his VP Kamala Harris have said they will run together, with the re-election campaign launch still being studied by White House advisors, the US broadcaster noted.

"The decision part is over, but he resents the pressure to have to announce what he's already decided," a source told NBC.

US President Joe Biden undoubtedly has a number of issues that contribute to his low approval ratings, including his handling of the Ukraine crisis, the dwindling economy, the pandemic response, a border crisis, and low ratings for personal qualities such as leadership, crisis management, and mental sharpness.

His approval rating has dropped a little since January, approaching the lowest point of his presidency as his administration struggles to show stability despite dealing with bank collapses and inflation that is stubbornly high, as per a new poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

Biden, who is anticipated to declare a reelection candidacy this summer, has drawn mixed reactions from the public, according to interviews with survey respondents. Americans rarely exhibited the extremes of unwavering loyalty and ferocious hatred that have characterized this era's split politics when it comes to the president.

It is worth noting that in November 2022, Biden's Republican nemesis former US President Donald Trump announced that he will run for the 2024 American presidential elections as a Republican candidate.
