This comes as reports say last month that the Bank of America was discreetly subpoenaed to pull up 14 years of bank records linked to three individuals associated with Hunter Biden.

Subpoenas have been issued by US House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer to numerous banks to acquire the financial statements of President Joe Biden's family, as Comer confirmed to Sputnik.

In his statement on Friday, Comer said, "We have the bank records and the facts are not good for the Biden family,"

The spokesperson for the Oversight Committee Austin Hacker told Sputnik that the subpoenas were served to the Bank of America, Cathay Bank, JPMorgan Chase, HSBC USA N.A., and to Biden's son, Hunter Biden's business associate Mervyn Yan for the financial records of the Biden family's business transactions.

Democratic Oversight Committee Ranking Member Jamie Raskin was accused by the Republican Comer of intentionally leaking the news of the subpoenas in an attempt to warn witnesses to not cooperate with the investigation.

Raskin has claimed before that Comer tried to conceal information about the probe from Democrats in the Committee.

This comes as reports say last month that the Bank of America was discreetly subpoenaed to pull up 14 years of bank records linked to three individuals associated with Hunter Biden - US citizen John Robertson and two other associates of Hunter Biden, who has established a joint venture with executives of the Chinese firm CEFC China Energy.

"There were three different Biden family members that received a cut from that $3 million, including a new Biden family member that's never before been included in any of these investigations," Comer told Fox News' America's Newsroom back in March.

Another day, another denial

Hunter is notorious for his involvement in numerous scandals, including substance abuse, commercial sex, infidelity, tax fraud, and, most likely, high-level corruption. Nonetheless, he was so far been able to elude prosecution.

E-mails recovered from Hunter's laptop, which was left at a repair shop, show that he played a major role in the acquisition of millions of dollars in funding for Metabiota, a Department of Defense contractor specializing in research on pandemic-causing diseases that could be used as bioweapons.

It showed that Hunter had at least 30 business meetings with his father in the White House or the Naval Observatory, and given their refusal to assist House GOP investigators, Comer insisted that the Bidens have something to hide.

Both the US president and his son have categorically denied any wrongdoing, however, Hunter has revealed he is under federal criminal investigation for tax evasion, and Biden has repeatedly denied having partaken or cooperated with his son's business transactions.
