Biden's 2023 missteps: reelection Bid, Ukraine aid delays top list: WP
Marc Thiessen, a former speechwriter for President George W. Bush and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, ranked Biden's announcement to run for reelection as the foremost among his "worst" decisions.
A Washington Post columnist on Friday compiled a list of the "10 worst things Biden did in 2023," with both his decision to seek reelection and the "slow roll" in providing aid to Ukraine ranking as the top issues.
Marc Thiessen, a former speechwriter for President George W. Bush and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, ranked Biden's announcement to run for reelection as the foremost among his "worst" decisions.
Taking the second position on the list was Biden's delay in providing aid to Ukraine. Thiessen expressed dissatisfaction with the nearly year-long process it took for Biden to approve the delivery of M1A1 Abrams tanks to Kiev.
Additionally, he criticized the President for hesitating to supply longer-range missiles, causing a delay in the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16s, and offering what he deemed insufficient air defense capabilities to Ukraine.
In the third spot, the columnist criticized Biden for preventing allies from offering Ukraine a clear path to NATO membership, citing concerns about provoking Russia.

The list also holds Biden responsible for what is described as "the worst border crisis in US history," attacks on US occupation troops in the Middle East, the Chinese spy balloon crisis, and an alleged failure to address alleged "antisemitism on the left."
Among the "worst things" this year are Biden's bypassing of the Supreme Court on student loan forgiveness, increasing US dependence on Russian uranium, and exacerbating "the child-care crisis."
None of the points mentioned US support for the Israeli-led genocide in Gaza. Nor was the escalating tension in the Middle East acknowledged due to US complicity in "Israel's" war crimes.
However, regardless of the President in charge, US foreign policy is designed to create disruption overseas. The essence of imperialism is to effectively generate rents through militarism.
It is worth recalling that the President for whom Thiessen worked, George W. Bush, was responsible for the most disastrous foreign policy action of the US since World War II.
The Iraq war which was based on lies fabricated by the Bush administration cost the lives of over 1 million civilians in Iraq.
