Day 460 of Israeli genocide in Gaza: 45,936 killed, 109,274 injured
The Health Ministry in Gaza has reported that the Israeli military carried out three brutal massacres targeting families in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, killing 51 Palestinians and injuring 78 others.
The Israeli occupation military committed three massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, of whom 51 martyrs and 78 injuries arrived at hospitals during the past 24 hours, the Health Ministry in Gaza announced on Wednesday.
This brings the total number of Palestinians killed since the start of the Israeli war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, to 45,885, in addition to 109,196 injuries, the ministry confirmed in its daily report on the 460th day of the aggression.
It noted that a number of victims remain under the rubble and on the roads, as ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them.
'Israel' killed 74 children in a week: UNICEF
Meanwhile, UNICEF announced that during the first week of the year, Israeli overnight attacks in Gaza City, Khan Younis, and al-Mawasi killed at least 74 Palestinian children.
“For Gaza’s children, the new year has brought nothing but more death, suffering, and exposure to the cold,” said UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell. ”A ceasefire is long overdue. Too many children have been killed or lost loved ones in a tragic start to the new year.”
In a statement, UNICEF also highlighted the severe risks posed by the lack of basic shelter amid winter temperatures.
UNICEF urged an end to attacks on civilians, humanitarian workers, and infrastructure and demanded that essential civilian needs be met while ensuring rapid, safe, and unrestricted humanitarian access.
UNRWA says Gaza hospitals 'have become death traps'
Earlier today, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated that hospitals in Gaza have turned into perilous environments.
In a post on X, the agency explained that families in Gaza are being devastated, with children freezing to death and starvation shortening lives.
It called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
UNRWA's statements come in light of the ongoing bombing and direct targeting of hospitals, as the three public hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip, which are Kamal Adwan, Beit Hanoun, and the Indonesian Hospital, have been taken out of service by "Israel's" constant attacks.
Only 14 hospitals out of 36 in Gaza are now partially operating, and are facing a severe shortage of supplies, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
