The Israeli retreat came as a direct result of the resistance’s counterattack, our reporter denoted
Al Mayadeen correspondent in Gaza reported a return to calm on Sunday following the Israeli air raids that targeted the southern and northern parts of the Strip at night.
Additionally, our correspondent revealed that “this is the first time in which the resistance announces the firing of two SAM-7 missiles at the occupation’s aircraft,” stressing that following the resistance’s counterattack “Israeli aircraft retreated from Gaza.”
Furthermore, he clarified that the resistance’s response came within the framework of deterrence, noting that the “message has been delivered to “Israel”.”
These new developments come following the Israeli bombing of Al-Qadisiyah, west of Khan Yunis, with five successive raids, while the occupation’s artillery shelled a field control point east of the town of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip.
In parallel, the resistance launched two experimental missiles towards the sea during the Israeli bombing in addition to the two aforementioned SAM-7 missiles at the occupation’s aircraft.
In this context, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem stressed that "the Israeli occupation's targeting of certain points and agricultural lands in the Gaza Strip is an aggression that is added to the record of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people."
Previously, private sources for Al Mayadeen pointed out that "Hamas told the Egyptians that the Israeli occupation breaking the rules of conflict would prompt a response from the resistance.”
