Last week, a US Air Force plane carrying US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi landed in Taiwan's capital, Taipei, at 10:44 p.m. local time (14:44 GMT), according to a live video broadcast from the airport.
The significance of Pelosi's visit is that it comes at a time of great tensions between the US and China over Taiwan, and it would mark the first visit made by a US House Speaker to the Island since 1997.
Iranian FM: US provocative actions threatening global peace
Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian issued a tweet in Mandarin on August 3 to express outrage at the visit of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan, stating that "respecting countries' territorial integrity is international law's utmost principle."
尊重各国主权和领土完整是国际关系基本准则。伊朗坚定支持一个中国原则。美国政权的挑衅行为已成为威胁世界和平与稳定的源头。国际社会必须予以制止。

He added that "the Islamic Republic of Iran's support to the One-China policy is unquestionable."
Foreign minister Amir-Abdollahian further said that "the US's provocative actions have become a source of tension to international security and stability."
Shortly after the US speaker's visit to China, the Iranian Foreign Ministry's Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani condemned the US for violating China's territorial integrity, stressing that Iran fully supports the One-China policy.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Washington is “continuously undermining China’s sovereignty and its One-China policy, and even deliberately attempting to incite violence in the Taiwan Strait.”
