Chinese FM strengthens economic ties with Brazil during visit
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi meets with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira to discuss the strategic significance and overall impact of bilateral cooperation.
Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira disclosed that he held discussions with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, in Brazil on Friday, focusing on enhancing economic cooperation between the two nations.
Both ministers met at the Itamaraty Palace in the capital, Brasilia, where both ministers sealed agreements in the crucial sectors of trade and tourism. After the meeting, Vieira spoke to reporters, emphasizing the expected positive outcomes of the recently established agreements.
Geopolitical talks: War in Ukraine, Israeli war on Gaza
The discussions extended to global geopolitical issues, with Vieira disclosing that the ministers delved into the ongoing war in Ukraine and the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. The objective of the talks was to explore potential contributions from both China and Brazil towards finding resolutions to these international challenges, he stated.

In reflecting on the comprehensive review of China-Brazil relations, Vieira emphasized Brazil's historical commitment to the one-China principle, emphasizing that "We have also discussed in detail what else can be done between the two countries."
Wang reiterated the sentiment and acknowledged the existing "strong" economic ties between China and Brazil, along with the shared commitment to strengthening relations through the visit.

Wang was vocal about elevating the global strategic partnership between China and Brazil to new heights, stating, "Brazil and China are aware of their responsibilities and are committed to contributing to the unity of developing countries, peace, and the development of the world."
The Chinese minister signaled his country's intention to contribute constructively to world trade, peace, and stability within the framework of a multipolar world. Wang also underscored the resilience of Brazil-China relations, emphasizing the intention to deepen collaboration in critical sectors such as agriculture, mining, and infrastructure.
