CNN Poll: 75% of Democratic voters want other than Biden in 2024
75% of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters want someone other than President Joe Biden in the 2024 election, a new poll conducted by CNN reveals.
A new CNN poll reveals that 75 percent of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters want the party to nominate someone in the 2024 election other than President Joe Biden.
The tally represents a sharp increase from earlier this year. A survey conducted by the Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll in April showed that 63% of participants did not want Biden to run for a second term.
The recent poll by CNN was conducted between July 22 to July 24 by SSRS online and comes as Biden's approval ratings remain low and the majority of Americans are displeased with the country's state and economy.

A recent report showed consumer trust slipping for the third month in a row amid peaking inflation.
The CNN poll shows a sharp downturn in enthusiasm for a 2024 reelection bid by the President. It shows that 31% of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters, aged 45 and older, would prefer Biden to be the 2024 nominee. Among voters under 45, just 18% prefer Biden as the 2024 nominee.
34% of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters expressed their wish to have someone other than Joe Biden because they do not believe he can win in 2024, up from 18% in a January/February poll.
32% feel that way because they don't want Biden to be reelected, up from 16% earlier this year. 35% said they prefer Biden as the nominee, which is a steep drop from 45% in January/February.
The poll also showed a majority of Republican and Republican-leaning registered voters say they do not want former President Donald Trump to be their party's nominee in the 2024 presidential election. 55% say they want someone else, which is up from 49% in a January/February poll.
The Biden administration struggles to control inflation that has risen to 40-year highs and left millions of Americans pulling their fingers out with high prices of food, housing, and gas. The spike in prices comes in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic upending key global supply chains.
