The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas confirmed on Monday that the joyful scenes of Palestinians receiving the first group of detainees released in the "Flood of the Free" ceasefire deal reflect strong popular support for the Resistance and underscore its deep-rooted position in the collective conscience of the people.

In a statement issued by Hamas, the group stated that the crowds of Palestinians coming out to receive the freed prisoners, despite the repressive measures of the occupation, represent a declaration of defiance against the occupation and "an expression of their thirst for freedom and the liberation of the land and holy sites."

Hamas emphasized that this deal underscored "the stark contrast between the values and morals of the Resistance and the barbarism and fascism of the occupation."

This was particularly evident in the images of the handover of the three female prisoners of the occupation, who were in excellent physical and psychological health. At the same time, signs of neglect and exhaustion were clearly showing on the freed Palestinian prisoners.

At the end of its statement, Hamas reaffirmed its commitment to securing complete freedom for the prisoners, "on the path to liberating our land and our holy sites and defeating the fascist occupation."

Hamas says committed to ceasefire

The movement stated on Sunday that with the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, it reaffirms its commitment to upholding its terms, which it said is "the result of the resilience and patience of our great people and the legendary steadfastness of our valiant resistance against the Israeli machinery of terror and killing."

The statement added, "Our heroic prisoners and detainees are on a path to freedom starting today, as we remain steadfast in our promise to them until they break the shackles of their captors and breathe freedom in the skies of Palestine."

The Palestinian group affirmed that it is monitoring the delivery of aid and the relief of Gaza's residents with all necessary measures, emphasizing its commitment to making every effort to provide all required support and assistance to restore normal life in the Gaza Strip.
