Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla has denounced "Israel’s" announced plan to seize full control of the Gaza Strip, warning it would escalate violence against Palestinians and deepen an already dire humanitarian crisis.

"We express the strongest condemnation of the plans of the Zionist government of Israel to occupy the Gaza Strip, which will intensify the genocide against the Palestinian population. We reject these plans, which will worsen the humanitarian crisis and encroach on the inalienable rights of this people," Rodríguez wrote on X.

Expresamos la más enérgica condena a los planes del gobierno sionista de Israel de ocupar la Franja de #Gaza, que intensificarán el genocidio contra población palestina.

His remarks come after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that Israel intends to assert control over all of Gaza to establish a security perimeter before transferring authority to a new "civilian administration." Netanyahu’s office said on Friday that the Israeli security cabinet had approved his proposal to eliminate Hamas and contain Gaza City.

Observers argue these assurances are hollow given "Israel's" record of indefinite military presence in occupied territories and its ongoing blockade of Gaza.

Global Outcry Overtake

The plan has drawn sharp international criticism. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer urged "Israel" to reverse the takeover, calling it "wrong" and counterproductive. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk demanded its suspension, warning it undermines the Palestinian right to self-determination. Turkey's senior presidential adviser Burhanettin Duran denounced the offensive as "outright genocide" and urged global action. The Iranian Foreign Ministry said it "is further proof of the entity’s intent to commit ethnic cleansing and genocide against the Palestinian people."

Palestinian Ambassador to the United Nations Riyad Mansour called it a blatant violation of international law and a rejection of global consensus. Hamas has also rejected the move, calling it a sign that negotiations have been abandoned in favor of cementing permanent Israeli military control.

Humanitarian agencies warn that mass displacement and a siege will deepen Gaza's crisis, where severe shortages of food, water, and medical supplies have already pushed the enclave toward famine and systemic collapse.

Cuba, for its part, along with several other Latin American nations, maintains firm backing for the Palestinian cause, calling for an immediate end to hostilities and recognition of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with Al-Quds as its capital city.
