Dagestani protestors storm airport after flight arrives from 'Israel'
Dagestani protestors storm an airport in the capital city after an airplane landed in the Russian Republic from "Israel".
Protests erupted in the city of Makhachkala, the capital of the Republic of Dagestan, which enjoys a degree of autonomy within the Russian Federation, after an airplane coming from "Tel Aviv", occupied Palestine, landed in the city's airport.
Trending videos show an angry crowd attempting to identify the Israeli passengers on board the plane. The enraged pro-Palestinian crowd stormed the city's airport, while demonstrators tried to "inspect" departing vehicles.
An official from Dagestan's security apparatus has stated that "the situation is not resolved yet, and there are Israelis under protection."
In an exclusive interview with Al Mayadeen, Shihab al-Din Husainov, Head of the Foreign Relations Department at the Dagestan Office of the Mufti, affirmed that the public anger in Dagestan and the protesters marching towards the airport was a natural response from Dagestan's residents to the "ongoing violence in Gaza."
Husainov added that the Dagestani people rejected the presence of the Israelis who landed in the republic, which is why they took to the airport.
As a result of these events, the Russian aviation authority decided to close the Makhachkala Uytash Airport in Dagestan and redirect the flights to other Russian airports.
