Daqqa's family to pursue another court appeal for his release
The Palestinian prisoner's wife says Daqqa's health is improving although his condition remains difficult.
The family of Palestinian cancer-stricken prisoner Walid Daqqa said that Israeli occupation authorities are still pursuing their deliberate medical neglect policy against him, which prevents the improvement of his health condition.
Daqqa's wife, Sanaa Salameh, said her husband's health condition is slowly improving in light of the continued deliberate medical neglect policy pursued by the occupation prison administration. It is noteworthy that the prisoner suffers from a rare bone marrow cancer known as myelofibrosis.
Salameh revealed that Daqqa's family is only allowed to visit him twice a month where they monitor his health condition and try to stay as informed as possible on his medical situation. She added that the prisoner's condition remains complex and difficult to deal with, confirming that her next visit is scheduled for Thursday.
Daqqa who has been held in Israeli prisons for 38 years continues to be monitored by doctors in the "Ayalon Prison" hospital, in the occupied city of Ramleh.
His family has filed an appeal to the occupation's Supreme Court in an attempt to reverse the court's decision to refuse his release even after a medical expert of the Israeli prison service determined that the cancer-stricken Palestinian prisoner's life was in danger.
Daqqa's wife appealed for heightened public support in hopes of pressuring the occupying authorities to release him and other ill Palestinian prisoners.

On July 7, the Ministry of Detainees and Ex-Detainees' Affairs explained in a statement that the occupation court's decision to postpone the release of Daqqa comes in line with the extremist directives of Israeli Police Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
The ministry added that the decision is yet another proof of the lack of integrity within the Israeli occupation judicial system, which has become subservient to the Israeli security apparatus and its right-wing government.
It called upon international organizations to immediately and urgently intervene in order to save the life of Daqqa, in order to circumvent the deliberate medical neglect that he is facing during his detainment in occupation prisons.
Currently, "Israel" holds nearly 5,100 Palestinians on political grounds, including 1200 administrative prisoners and 558 others who are serving life sentences, such as Walid Daqqa.
