The Ministry of Health in Gaza has released the latest toll of casualties in the besieged territory, stating that 53 Palestinians were martyred while another 357 were injured as a result of the Israeli occupation's military aggression in the last 24 hours.

This raises the total death toll to 36,224 martyrs and 81,777 injuries since the Israeli war on Gaza was launched on October 7, 2023.

The Israeli occupation committed a total of five massacres, targeting Palestinian civilians on 237th day of the war on Gaza.

The ministry explained that emergency workers and first responders are unable to reach several killed civilians, due to multiple factors. This includes the fact that Israeli occupation forces are actively preventing staff from reaching bombed areas.

Moreover, emergency services are ill-equipped, as the prevention and destruction of heavy equipment and vehicles has been a policy of the Israeli regime. Such actions have made it nearly impossible for emergency workers to recover bodies from under the rubble caused by Israeli bombs and shells.

Israeli forces kill paramedics

Earlier on Wednesday, a number of Palestinians, including two paramedics, were killed, while others were injured, in an Israeli raid carried out by the occupation's Air Force against Rafah and Gaza City, in central Gaza. Rescue teams were able to retrieve the bodies of several martyrs and injured civilians after Israeli airstrikes targeted the home of the al-Hatu family near the Zahraa School in eastern Gaza. Three Palestinians were also killed in Tell al-Sultan in western Rafah after the IOF targeted their home.

Two Palestinian Red Crescent paramedics were killed in an Israeli airstrike that deliberately targeted their ambulance, which was en route to rescue several injured Palestinians and retrieve the bodies of martyrs in Tell al-Sultan.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the Palestine Red Crescent Society confirmed that a rescue team was directly targeted by the Israeli occupation as it was trying to rescue an injured Palestinian.

The Israeli occupation has made its intention of destroying Gaza's health sector and making work for emergency personnel fatal evidence clear. It continues to target medical facilities and workers, as part of its blatant genocide of the Palestinian people.
