Day 240: 36,439 Palestinians killed, 82,627 wounded
The Israeli occupation committed numerous massacres overnight on Sunday, raising the death toll of the aggression on Gaza to 36,439.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza released on Sunday the latest toll of casualties in the besieged territory, stating that 60 Palestinians were martyred, while another 220 were injured as a result of the Israeli occupation's aggression in the last 24 hours.
This raises the total death toll to 36,439 martyrs and 82,627 wounded since the Israeli war on Gaza was launched on October 7, 2023.
The Israeli occupation committed a total of five massacres against Palestinian civilians on the 240th day of the war on Gaza.
The ministry explained that emergency workers and first responders are unable to reach countless martyrs as they are trapped under the rubble and as the Israeli occupation forces actively prevent first responders from going to certain areas.
On the 240th day of the genocidal war against Gaza, the Israeli occupation continued to carry out strikes and artillery shelling across the Strip with a focus on Rafah, where the intensity of the bombing increased amid the ongoing invasion of the region.
In Rafah, Israeli airstrikes targeted the Brazil neighborhood in the southern part of the city, injuring several Palestinians and destroying a number of homes.

The occupation heavily shelled the al-Halal Market area and the Qishta neighborhood in southern Rafah, while a house belonging to the Abu Sha'ar family was also shelled in Tel Al-Sultan in the western part of the city.
Simultaneously, central Rafah was attacked by helicopters, which also launched smoke and sonic grenades targeting its neighborhoods.
Jabalia still under fire
In the northern Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation military targeted the eastern part of the Jabalia camp with artillery shelling, following a partial withdrawal of its forces after a three-week incursion - which left behind dozens of martyrs, many of whom remain in the camp's streets.
Heavy Israeli bombing targeted the vicinity of the European Hospital in Khan Younis, while naval ships shelled the al-Mawasi area.
In eastern Gaza City, Israeli airstrikes targeted a house in the Shawwa Square area in the al-Daraj neighborhood, and another house belonging to the Khalifa family in the old town.
The occupation also shelled the vicinity of the University College in the al-Sabra neighborhood in the southern part of Gaza City, resulting in the martyrdom of several Palestinians and the injury of others.
Moreover, Israeli artillery also targeted the al-Zaytoun neighborhood in the southeast part of the city, while occupation naval boats opened fire toward the beaches in the northwest part of the Strip.
