Captives' families demand Netanyahu accept Biden' 3-phase plan
Biden laid out a new proposal that involves releasing Israeli captives in exchange for a ceasefire in Gaza.
The families of Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip demanded Saturday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accept the proposal announced by US President Joe Biden regarding a ceasefire.
The families accused the "Extremists in the government" of sacrificing the captives to prolong the war, according to Israeli Channel 12,
They called on the Israeli public to accept the deal proposed by Biden, affirming that it was "forbidden to lose this moment," and that Biden for the first time gave "real hope."
Biden laid out a new proposal that involves releasing Israeli captives in exchange for a ceasefire in Gaza on Friday.
Biden claimed that this is the most effective step toward de-escalating the ongoing war, adding, "With a ceasefire, that aid could be safely and effectively distributed to all who need it."
"As someone who's had a lifelong commitment to Israel, as the only American president who has ever gone to Israel at a time of war, as someone who just sent the US forces to directly defend Israel when it was attacked by Iran, I ask you to take a step back, think what will happen if this moment is lost," he stressed. "We can't lose this moment."
"It's time for this war to end and for the day after to begin," emphasized Biden, who is under the pressure of an election year and amid the ongoing Israeli aggression, which has persisted for eight months.
Biden 'frustrated with absolute victory'
According to a report in the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, Biden's speech is evidence that he is frustrated with the strategy of "absolute victory" and calls for a prolonged war, in addition to concern about the position of extremists in Netanyahu’s government, at a time close to the resignation of Minister Benny Gantz,” noting that he did not mention pressure on Hamas but rather urged "Israel" to accept the deal.
The report explained that “To put it mildly, Israel did not like the speech delivered by the US President on Friday, even though he revealed the Israeli proposal to Hamas, and the Netanyahu government considered it a weak speech that neglected to condemn Hamas and Palestinian organizations.”
The Hamas movement expressed that it "views positively" the contents of US President Joe Biden's speech earlier on Friday regarding "a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, reconstruction and the exchange of prisoners," the Palestinian Resistance group said in a statement.
The Hamas movement on Thursday announced that it has informed mediators of its clear stance that it is prepared to reach a comprehensive agreement that includes a full prisoner exchange deal only if the Israeli occupation halts its war and aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
On Tuesday, senior Hamas official Bassem Naim affirmed that the continuation of the Israeli aggression "means more Israeli captives in the hands of the Palestinian Resistance in the Gaza Strip."
In an exclusive interview for Al Mayadeen, Naim responded to comments from the Israeli Channel 12 regarding "Israel's" readiness for a long-term ceasefire, saying that "Israeli manipulation of words is unacceptable, as it must be clear from the beginning that a complete ceasefire is demanded."
Horror of attrition will drive IOF out of Gaza: Abu Hamza
The spokesperson of the al-Quds Brigades, Abu Hamza, confirmed that the military wing of the Resistance movement continues to confront Israeli occupation forces, stressing that the Resistance remains "in great shape," and vowing that "the horror of attrition will drive the occupation outside of Gaza."

In a recorded statement released by al-Quds Brigades on the 239th day of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, Abu Hamza emphasized that the Palestinian Resistance is engaged in an existential battle in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, asserting that victory for the Resistance is inevitable.
Concerning the Israeli captives held by the Resistance in the Gaza Strip, Abu Hamza stressed that the al-Quds Brigades are “fighting a complex security battle to preserve them,” addressing the occupation settlers by saying, “The only way to return the captives is to withdraw from Gaza, conduct an exchange deal, and end the aggression.”
He added that as the occupation persists in its genocidal campaign against Gaza, the return of settlers to the settlements "will not happen until the war on Gaza ends."
Israeli Channel 12 revealed that 20,000 occupation soldiers have been injured in Gaza since October 7, with 8,298 being classified as disabled, coining the data as a "peak number".
While Israeli media and official hospital records have been revealing a large number of injuries in Israeli ranks, the occupation military has been attempting to conceal its losses as part of its censorship policy by not admitting the actual number of losses.
As the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood continues for the 239th day, the total death and injury toll among Israeli soldiers continues increasing, specifically as 14 occupation soldiers were wounded over the past 24 hours during confrontations in Gaza.
