Day 288 of genocide: 'Israel' kills 37 civilians in four massacres
The Israeli occupation's genocide continues claiming Palestinian lives amid international impunity, with the toll inching closer to 39,000.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced in its daily report Saturday that the number of Palestinians killed in Gaza due to the Israeli genocidal war ongoing since October 7 has now reached 38,919, in addition to 89,622 injuries.
Additionally, it confirmed that Israeli occupation forces committed four massacres over the past 24 hours, killing 37 and injuring 54 others.
The ministry stressed that thousands of victims are still under the rubble on the streets as the occupation forces continue to prohibit ambulances and civil defense crews from reaching them.
The Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has not ceased for the 288th consecutive day since the occupation launched its onslaught on the besieged strip, resulting in tens of martyrs and injuries, as well as extensive damages following a series of airstrikes and artillery shelling targeting several areas.
No safe place in Gaza, UN agencies need security: UNSC
During the open discussion session held by the United Nations Security Council on developments in Palestine and the region, many UN and international bodies rejected the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza and warned of the worsening humanitarian crisis.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres confirmed that the humanitarian support system in Gaza is almost completely collapsing, noting that there is no justification for the collective punishment of the Palestinian people in light of the ongoing genocidal war on the Gaza Strip for about 10 months.
In his speech delivered by Courtenay Rattray, chief of cabinet of the UN secretary-general, he explained that nearly two million Palestinians have been displaced in Gaza and half a million are facing catastrophic levels of acute food insecurity, in addition to the rise in infectious diseases.
"Rafah is in ruins – and the Rafah crossing remains closed, further hampering humanitarian operations. Almost two million people have been displaced – nearly the entire population of Gaza – and many of them multiple times," he stated.
"Nowhere in Gaza is safe," he emphasized.
