Day 404 in Gaza: 43,712 killed, 103,258 injured by 'Israel'
The Israeli aggression continues to heavily target the entirely of the Gaza Strip, as massacres tear through civilians and innocent children, hiking the death toll to astronomical numbers.
A number of Palestinians were injured on Wednesday in an Israeli airstrike on the al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip.
Seven Palestinians were injured and transferred to the Nasser Medical Complex in central Khan Younis after the occupation forces targeted a tent sheltering displaced people in the Bir 19 area in al-Mawasi.
The al-Mawasi area has been heavily bombarded three times since the morning, resulting in the martyrdom of nine Palestinians and the injuring of over 30 others, a number of whom are reported to be in critical condition.
'Israel' commits seven massacres in Gaza
Across the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation committed seven massacres, killing 47 Palestinians and injuring 182 others. Some of the victims were transported to the few partially functioning hospitals and medical complexes in the Strip, but the majority remain trapped beneath the rubble.
Civil defense and rescue teams remain unable to reach those stuck under the rubble due to Israeli obstruction and bombardment.
This raises the total death toll in Gaza on the 404th day of the genocide to 43,712 Palestinians killed and 103,258 injured.
70% of those killed in Gaza are women and children: UN
The UN Human Rights Office revealed in a recent report that nearly 70% of those killed in Gaza from November 2023 to April 2024 are women and children, describing this high civilian toll as a severe breach of international humanitarian law.
This latest report has sounded the alarm about systematic violations of laws meant to protect non-combatants during conflict.
The report attributes the high civilian death toll to "Israel's" use of weapons with expansive area effects in Gaza's densely populated urban zones.
According to the detailed analysis, about 80% of the victims were killed in residential buildings or similar housing, out of which 44% were children and 26% were women.
The most represented verified fatalities were children aged 5 to 9, between ages 10 to 14, and babies and children from 0 to 4 years old. The report also verified that the youngest victim was a one-day-old boy, while the oldest was a 97-year-old woman.
