Democrats concerned over election impact amid Gaza genocide: WashPo
There has been growing criticism towards President Biden's handling of the war, leading to tensions within the party and highlighting differences in approach to foreign policy.
An op-ed published in The Washington Post on Monday details some of the challenges facing the Democratic Party amidst sustained protests concerning the war on Gaza.
These demonstrations, critical of US support for "Israel", have exacerbated tensions within the party, especially among its liberal base and young voters.
The piece highlights emerging divisions within the Democratic Party regarding the Gaza genocide, which have disrupted events and posed challenges to party leaders such as President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.).
There is also growing criticism towards President Biden's handling of the war, leading to tensions within the party and highlighting differences in approach to foreign policy.
As these protests persist, concerns about party unity and effectiveness loom large, with Democrats apprehensive about potential ramifications in the November elections due to internal divisions over foreign policy.
The piece further suggests that protests on other issues, like climate change, are also affecting Democratic events, presenting further obstacles for the party in addressing internal dissent while maintaining its political effectiveness.

Does which party wins the elections make any difference?
US foreign policy is inherently aggressive towards Palestine, regardless of which party gets to win the elections.
US foreign policy has traditionally been guided by the principle of maintaining US global dominance, ensuring that no rival entity challenges its power.
This has been exemplified through the numerous military and covert interventions throughout the Global South, and "Israel" a client actor, acts like the US policeman in the region.
In Gaza's case, the Israeli leadership has dismissed the fact that its sole purpose is to act as a foothold for imperialism and is now pursuing policies independently of US influence.
As a result, the White House is now seeking to replace Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with a more compliant figure like Gantz in order to facilitate the establishment of quasi-Palestinian statehood and regain the favor of Saudi Arabia.
