The Deputy Secretary-General of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), Ali Faisal, affirmed in an interview with Al Mayadeen on Saturday that the steadfastness of the Palestinian Resistance and the growing isolation of the Israeli occupation were decisive factors behind the United States’ decision to seek an end to the war on Gaza.

Faisal called on mediators to play an active role in consolidating the emerging agreement and ensuring the enforcement of its mechanisms amid "Israel’s" repeated violations and reluctance to abide by commitments.

“The steadfastness of the Resistance and the occupation’s isolation governed the US decision to end the war,” Faisal told Al Mayadeen, stressing that mediators must now “play their part in securing the deal and guaranteeing its implementation in light of Israel’s evasion.”

Faisal noted that the Resistance forces across the region have played a “crucial role in shaping regional and international equations,” warning that vigilance is essential as negotiations advance.

“The Resistance movements in the region have had a decisive impact on regional and global dynamics,” he said, adding that caution remains vital in managing the ongoing talks.

Hamas’ response marks turning point

Hamas earlier announced its official response to the US-brokered proposal, expressing readiness to release all Israeli captives—both living and deceased—under agreed operational conditions. The movement also reaffirmed its commitment to begin, through mediators, immediate negotiations to finalize the details of the exchange.

Hamas reiterated its willingness to hand over the administration of the Gaza Strip to an independent Palestinian technocratic body, formed through national consensus and supported by Arab and Islamic states.

Factions endorse unified national stance

Palestinian Resistance factions collectively welcomed Hamas’s response as the result of a “responsible national position” reached through broad consultations. They emphasized that the move aligns with the Palestinian people’s interests and guarantees an end to what they described as Israel’s ongoing war of extermination in Gaza.

In a joint statement, the factions urged all relevant actors, including the Palestinian Authority (PA), to follow through with their responsibilities—chiefly by convening an urgent national meeting to translate this diplomatic momentum into a unified political framework protecting Palestinian rights and national aspirations.
