Document reveals UK training of Ukrainian soldiers 4 years ago
The correspondent of the Russian news agency found a document confirming the participation of the United Kingdom in training the Ukrainian military for 4 years.
UK instructors trained Ukrainian soldiers fighting in Donbass in weapon use and navigation, according to a document discovered by a Sputnik correspondent in the liberated city of Volnovakha in the Donetsk Region.
A Ukrainian serviceman named Borys Kazarian had completed junior sergeant training courses with British instructors, according to a certificate.
The course was divided into four modules: "weapons training," "navigation," "medical training," and "pairs movement."
The training took place from October 17, 2018, to November 2, 2018, according to the certificate signed by Col. M. Evans of the UK Royal Tank Regiment.
At the time, preparations for the elections of heads of republics and lawmakers, which took place on November 11, 2018, were underway in the DPR and LPR.
In a related context, UK’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson said late Wednesday that Britain would send 6,000 missiles, consisting of anti-tank and high explosive weapons, and $33 million in supplies to Ukraine’s military.
“The United Kingdom will work with our allies to step up military and economic support to Ukraine, strengthening their defenses as they turn the tide in this fight,” he added.
It is worth mentioning that the head of the United Kingdom's armed forces Admiral Tony Radakin has recently stated that sending Britons to fight against Russia in Ukraine is "illegal and unhelpful."
His remarks came after British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said that she backs anyone who wanted to volunteer and follow an appeal for foreign fighters to come to Ukraine from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Zelensky has urged foreigners to visit Ukrainian embassies around the world to join an "international brigade" of volunteers fighting Russian forces.
Britons have traveled to Ukraine to join the Ukrainian aggression against Donbass area since 2014.
Fighters from Europe, the US, and Australia have joined up too.
Ukrainian army’s aggression against Donbass area has led to more than 10,000 deaths and displaced more than 1.6 million people, says the UN.
