DPRK denounces US decision to supply Ukraine with cluster munitions
The DPRK says the US has made a very dangerous choice by deciding to offer such lethal weapons to Ukraine.
The DPRK on Tuesday slammed the United States' decision to supply Ukraine with cluster munitions, denouncing President Joe Biden's decision as a "criminal act" and urging that the proposal be scrapped immediately.
Washington announced last week that it would provide the widely banned munitions to Kiev for its counteroffensive against Russian forces.
"The U.S. has made a very dangerous choice by deciding to offer such lethal weapons to Ukraine," said DPRK Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui in a statement carried by the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
The move "brings to light once again its true colors as destroyer of peace regarding aggression and massacre as its national policy and mode of existence," she said, calling on Washington to halt its plans.
Choe considered that Biden's admission that it was a tough decision showed that he was aware of the devastating repercussions of using cluster munitions.
When they detonate, cluster bombs spread dozens of tiny bomblets over an area the size of several football pitches.

Adding that the DPRK government and its people "extend firm support and solidarity" to Russia, Choe said Moscow would eventually come out victorious.
