Egypt reaffirms rejection of Israeli control over Philadelphi, Rafah
A high-level source tells the Al-Qahera News that the Israeli government is responsible for the failure to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Egypt reaffirms its firm stance and key principles regarding any ceasefire agreement, foremost of which is the absolute rejection of Israeli presence in the Philadelphi Corridor and the Rafah crossing, the Al-Qahera News website reported on Monday, citing a high-level source.
The source warned that the continuation of the current war and the potential for its regional escalation is extremely dangerous and poses severe risks on all levels.
The source held the Israeli government responsible for the failure to reach a ceasefire agreement and accused it of attempting to impose a new reality on the ground to cover up its internal crisis.

This comes as the negotiations regarding completing a ceasefire in Gaza and a prisoner exchange deal between "Israel" and Hamas have been stalled with Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's insistence on continued Israeli military control over the Philadelphi Corridor in the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Hamas has reiterated its key demands for any potential agreement; a permanent ceasefire, the complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, the unrestricted return of displaced residents to their homes, comprehensive relief and reconstruction efforts, and a serious prisoner exchange deal.
The Palestinian Resistance group has also demanded that "Israel" adhere to the terms agreed upon on July 2, which are based on the plan laid out by US President Joe Biden and a UN Security Council resolution.
Despite US claims that an agreement is near, the most recent talks held in Cairo last weekend ended without a conclusive outcome, and Hamas has indicated that Washington is attempting to create the illusion of nearing an agreement for its own interests.
Netanyahu's emphasis on Israeli control over the Philadelphi Corridor has once again angered Israelis demanding the return of captives held in Gaza, especially after the Israeli military announced the discovery of the bodies of six of them in a tunnel in the city of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.
Opposers of the Israeli Prime Minister argue that he has so far prioritized military pressure on Hamas rather than putting effort into retrieving the remaining captives alive.
On Sunday, protests erupted in the streets of Tel Aviv and occupied al-Quds, with observers estimating that approximately 280,000 people demonstrated in Tel Aviv alone, despite repeated attempts by Israeli police to disperse the crowds, which only grew larger as they reassembled.
The protesters are demanding that the Israeli government abandon its position on maintaining military control over the Philadelphi Corridor and return to negotiations that might secure the return of the captives alive from Gaza. They argue that the ongoing war has resulted in the deaths of many of the captives.
Following Sunday's massive protests, "Israel's" main labor union declared Monday a day of general strike in response to the failure of the Netanyahu government to secure the release of the captives through a ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal.
