Kamel: Egypt's relations with "Israel" are excellent, and so was the meeting between Sisi and Bennett.
The Israeli Wallah website quoted the head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service, Minister Abbas Kamel, as saying that Egypt is constantly putting effort to reach a solution to the Palestinian prisoners' issue.
In an interview with Israeli journalists on the sidelines of the climate conference in Glasgow, Kamel stressed that a comprehensive long-term ceasefire deal must be reached in Gaza that also includes humanitarian assistance to the population.
According to Wallah, Kamel pointed out that the deal must have a solution for the Palestinian prisoners' issue, and affirmed that efforts are being exerted "day and night" to reach a deal.
The Egyptian minister also mentioned that any deal to return bodies of Israeli soldiers and the release of Israeli prisoners must first include the release of elderly Palestinian prisoners as well as the release of Palestinian women and youth held in occupation prisons.
Kamel pointed out that Egypt's relations with "Israel" are excellent, as was the meeting between Sisi and Bennett.
The Egyptian minister spoke about the difference between Netanyahu and Bennett, and expressed Cairo's hopes for the Israeli government to settle.
It is noteworthy that the Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad movement in Palestine Ziad al-Nakhalah concluded his visit to Cairo a few days ago, during which he held several meetings with Egyptian officials.
