Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi called for urgent efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East, highlighting the ongoing wars in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as the need for stability in Syria, Libya, Yemen, and Sudan.
Speaking at a trilateral summit with Cyprus and Greece on Wednesday, El-Sisi emphasized the importance of preventing the escalation into a regional war, warning that such a development would have catastrophic economic, political, and security repercussions, including unprecedented levels of displacement.
The Egyptian President also underscored the strategic significance of economic cooperation between Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece, describing it as a critical step not only for boosting economic growth but also for advancing regional economic integration.
"This cooperation is key to realizing our shared vision of greater regional unity and stability," he said.
