A Palestinian elderly succumbed to his gunshot wounds inflicted by Israeli soldiers in the northern West Bank city of Tubas, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

The Ministry confirmed in a press statement that 58-year-old Salah Tawfiq Sawafta Abu Jarrara sustained a critical injury in the head and later succumbed to his wounds at a hospital.

Daraghmeh said Sawafta had been unarmed when he was hit. "This man did not have a stone or anything in his hand," he said.

The Israeli military said five people were detained in overnight raids across the West Bank and a young man, who remained unidentified, was hit by a live round in the thigh in the course of the ensuing confrontations.

On Thursday, 18-year-old Wasim Abu Khalifa, from the Balata refugee camp in Nablus, succumbed to his injuries after he was shot during an Israeli raid on Nablus.

The Israeli occupation forces had earlier stormed the eastern area of Nablus with dozens of military vehicles, heading toward Qaber Youssef (Joseph's Tomb) area.

The IOF, accompanied by Israeli settlers, both in large numbers, stormed Al-Quds and Amman Streets in the vicinity of Qaber Youssef (Joseph's Tomb) east of Nablus and the Askar and Balata refugee camps.
