Elon Musk: George Soros is eroding civilization
Elon Musk criticizes George Soros for impeding the implementation of laws in the US and abroad.
George Soros, the multi-billionaire and founder of Open Society Foundations (OSF), is trying to dismantle society, fellow billionaire Elon Musk said during a podcast with Joe Rogan on Tuesday.
Soros' organization funds non-governmental organizations (NGOs) all over the world to promote liberal values.
"He's doing things that erode the fabric of civilization," Musk emphasized. The owner of Tesla, X, and SpaceX slammed Soros for pushing cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles into chaos, which comes as a result of his backing of US District attorneys who "refuse to prosecute crime." On an international level, Musk noted that Soros is also "pushing these things in other countries too."

The tech tycoon pointed to how Soros has avoided going through the bureaucratic processes of legislation, as he has instead focused on "changing laws" by affecting their enforcement.
"Soros realized that you don’t actually need to change the laws; you just need to change how they’re enforced. If nobody chooses to enforce the law or the laws are differentially enforced, it’s like changing the laws," Musk said.
He also said that Soros, who had allocated more than $32 billion of his personal wealth to his NGO, the Open Society Foundations, made the right choice of founding the foundation instead of funding election campaigns, which has brought him the best value for his money.

Soros shifts priorities to eastern Europe
More recently George's son, Alex, inherited the "charitable" empire and has planned to make several policy changes.
In late August he revealed in an article written for Politico, that the OSF will be reducing its headcount and reorienting its priorities, but will not be leaving Europe, which has been a center for the organization's work.
Soros explained that the decision would not be unique, as after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the foundation, which was initially established in the 1980s, shifted its focus on EU accession for Central and Eastern European nations.
Today, Soros argued, the war in Ukraine will have "untold consequences, while the rise of Poland as a leading economy will eventually make it a net contributor to the EU." In other words, the foundation confirmed that its next targets would be Warsaw, Kiev, and Prague, in addition to Paris and Berlin, where the OSF has long been present and functional.
He also admitted that the organization had spent over $250 million in Ukraine since 2014.
