Pezeshkian: You want the countries of this region to turn on each other by handing out bombs and missiles, and then you say you are peace-seekers?
Pezeshkian: When they boast of having missiles and bombs beyond imagination, is it us who are causing war and bloodshed—or is it them, who flood this region with weapons and ammunition?

In a new piece, Alex Soros the new chair of the Open Society Foundation, announces that EU accession for Moldova and Western Balkans is necessary to contain Russia.

The Open Society Foundation's (OSF) new chair of the Board of Directors, Alex Soros, revealed in an article written for Politico, that the OSF will be reducing its headcount and reorienting its priorities, but it will not be leaving Europe.

According to Soros, Europe has begun an eastward shift, and similarly, the priorities of the OSF, alleged Soros, will also shift to better handle current and future challenges.

Soros explained that the decision would not be unique, as after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the foundation, which was initially established in the 1980s, shifted its focus on EU accession for Central and Eastern European nations.

In 2008, following the economic crisis, Soros explained, the foundation reappropriated its priorities to step up its work in Brussels and Western Europe.

Today, Soros argued, the war in Ukraine will have "untold consequences, while the rise of Poland as a leading economy will eventually make it a net contributor to the EU." In other words, the foundation confirmed that its next targets would be Warsaw, Kiev, and Prague, in addition to Paris and Berlin, where the OSF has long been present and functional.

According to Soros, "reducing" the organization's headcount "significantly" will be necessary to "ensure more money goes out to where it’s most needed."

The OSF also announced that it will be "exiting some areas of work" as it prioritizes the refocusing of its funding where it all started, in Europe's east. Soros then admitted that the organization has spent over $250 million since 2014 in Ukraine and reaffirmed that it will continue to be present in the country.

The upcoming focus of the OSF, according to the new piece by Soros, will be to ensure Moldova and the Western Balkans ascend to the EU. The main purpose would be to end any possibility that Russia gets "an opening" in places such as Bosnia and Kosovo, allegedly.

The goal, according to Soros, would be to unite the Balkans with the EU to contain Russia and "avoid creating a geopolitical vacuum," while equally strengthening European security.

He also revealed that the Romas of Europe would be one of their targeted audiences, under the pretense that they are the largest ethnic minority. Soros stated that the foundation will dramatically increase efforts to secure equal treatment" for the Roma who spread largely across Eastern Europe.

Soros warns Trump re-election to spark constitution, economic crisis

Former President Donald Trump getting re-elected would lead the country to chaos, causing both an economic and constitutional crisis, US-Hungarian billionaire George Soros warned on August 25.

Soros, notorious for his Open Society Foundations that utilize soft power as a means of hegemonic imperialism abroad, most notably in countries of the global south, underlined that Trump would be found guilty at the end of the day.

This comes as Trump is embattled legally, as he was detained after surrendering at the Fulton County jail in connection to 13 charges over his alleged role in trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in Georgia.

He was, however, released on bail and is not anticipated to visit the state until the first court hearing in September.
