Turkey demands its investment in F-35 be paid back by the US

On December 16, following meetings with top officials in the UAE, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said work was underway for a visit by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the UAE on February 14-15.

The Anadolu Agency reported in late November that Erdogan said he would pay a return visit to the UAE in February, accompanied by a large delegation.

Erdogan's announcement came less than a week after a visit by Abu Dhabi Crown prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who visited Ankara on November 24 and had talks with the Turkish president with the aim of developing Emirati-Turkish relations.

Erdogan had said the agreements signed during bin Zayed's visit were cordial steps that would mark a new beginning in relations between Turkey and the UAE.
