Former Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi stated on Saturday that political settlements were not a viable solution, emphasizing that the true path lies in the actions of Operation al-Aqsa Flood, the battles to liberate Gaza, and the fronts supporting the Resistance, particularly in Yemen.
Speaking at the third "Palestine: The Central Cause of the Nation" conference in Sanaa, attended by international and Arab delegations, Abdul Mahdi noted that Red Sea battles and the arrival of US fleets had not altered the course of the conflict. Instead, the continued aggression against Yemen has only strengthened its military capabilities.
He praised Yemen’s pivotal role in the battle for Palestine, particularly the leadership of Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, who has effectively managed the struggle on multiple fronts.
The former Iraqi Prime Minister highlighted that Yemeni forces have enhanced their operational tactics and imposed an unprecedented siege on the Israeli occupation.
He further asserted that the era of isolating Gaza had ended, and the new equation of the resistance, that of bringing the battle into the heart of the Israeli occupation, would break the blockade on the besieged Palestinian territory.
Calls for international solidarity
Zwelivelile Mandela, grandson of South African anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela, who also took part in the conference, stressed the importance of countering the media war hostile to the Palestinian cause and building strong global solidarity in support of Palestine.
“We take pride in Yemen and in being part of this conference, which unites participants from around the world,” Mandela said.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Al-Arami, deputy head of the conference’s preparatory committee, explained that the gathering is focused on seven key topics of strategic importance to the Palestinian cause.
He emphasized Yemen’s commitment to its faith-based identity, free from US influence, and under a leadership that upholds Islamic principles.
Hamas: Resistance unbowed by brutality
Muath Abu Shamala, Hamas’ representative in Yemen, condemned the Israeli occupation's massacre on March 17, stating that it reflects the entrenched brutality of the occupation and its failure to crush the resistance.
“The occupier has no justification for defending its occupation, and its crimes are committed in plain sight of the international community,” he said.
Abu Shamala reaffirmed the Resistance’s right to defend itself and its people, stressing that the Israeli occupation's aggression and starvation tactics would not break the steadfastness of Palestinians.
He also called on the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to take responsibility for addressing the Israeli occupation's crimes and the ongoing siege of Gaza.
Yemen's support for Palestine: Principled
Overnight on Friday, the YAF announced that they had struck an Israeli military target south of occupied Yafa [Tel Aviv] using a Palestine-2 missile.
In a statement, YAF spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree confirmed that the operation successfully hit its target, noting that this was the second operation within 24 hours, following an earlier attack on Ben Gurion Airport using the same Palestine-2 hypersonic missile.
Saree emphasized that the YAF's military operations in support of Gaza will continue regardless of the ongoing US aggression on Yemen, underscoring that these operations, along with a Yemeni blockade on Israeli navigation, will persist until the aggression against Gaza ceases and the siege is lifted.
