Exclusive: Behind the execution of Lebanese civilian by the Mossad
Lebanese security sources have revealed some of the details behind the murder of Mohammad Srour, which has been heavily linked to the Israeli Mossad.
The Lebanese man, Mohammad Srour, was severely tortured by Israeli Mossad agents before he was executed in the Lebanese town of Beit Meri, Lebanese security sources informed on the matter told Al Mayadeen.
The killers transferred martyr Srour to an apartment rented for one month located in the town of Beit Meri, north of Beirut, to interrogate him using extreme violence, sources told Al Mayadeen.
Lebanese security circles confirm that Srour was subjected to severe torture before he was killed, and it is strongly believed that the Israeli Mossad was behind the operation. Moreover, Srour was subjected to interrogation while he was handcuffed, and the killers were in direct contact with "Tel Aviv" during the violent interrogation, according to our sources.
Srour was shot multiple times across his body as a form of torture, receiving more than 10 bullets.
"It seems that martyr Srour did not confess to the Mossad members what they sought, so they executed him and left," sources told Al Mayadeen.
Who is Mohammad Srour?
Mohammad Srour was a Lebanese man sanctioned for allegedly transferring millions of dollars to Palestinian Resistance factions in the Gaza Strip. Said to have worked in currency exchanges and money transfers, Srour hails from the Lebanese town of Labweh in the northern Bekaa Valley. He was found killed in a villa in the town of Beit Meri on Tuesday, with several gunshot wounds to his legs, an unnamed Lebanese security source told Reuters, indicating that he was tortured before being killed.
A large sum of money was also found on him, which has led Lebanese security authorities to conclude that Srour had been subject to violent interrogation, not attempted theft.
The United States Treasury sanctioned him in 2019, saying that he had transferred "tens of millions of dollars per year" between the Iranian Islamic Revolution Guard Corps' (IRGC) Quds Force and Hamas' military wing, al-Qassam Brigades. The Treasury claims that Srour was affiliated with the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah, however, Reuters says that Srour has no formal or senior role with the Resistance party.
In March, a top U.S. Treasury representative visited Lebanon to press officials to halt financial transfers to Hamas. A source at Lebanon's central bank told Reuters that Lebanon had denied such transfers were taking place.

Srour's family calls for accountability
The family of Mohammad Srour held a press conference in their village, which was attended by members of Hezbollah's parliamentary bloc, the Loyalty to Resistance bloc, on Wednesday.
A member of the family read out a statement, thanking the Lebanese security forces, specifically the Information Agency, for unveiling the crime, after Srour was reported missing seven days prior.
"Our questions are: Who lured Hajj Mohammad to this place, what is the goal of luring him, what is the goal of killing him in this way and at this time, what are the goals of the crime, and who is the party responsible for it?" the statement read.
"The family calls on the Lebanese state to carry out its responsibilities. The people of Labweh and the northern Bekaa insist on uncovering and exposing the truth, and we will not let his blood go in vain," the family added.
