Exclusive: Egypt to receive injured Gazans through Rafah crossing
Egyptian sources tell Al Mayadeen that critically injured Palestinians will be transferred to Egypt to receive medical treatment.
Egyptian authorities are ready to receive injured Palestinians on Wednesday through the Rafah border crossing, the only crossing connecting the Gaza Strip to Egypt, Egyptian medical and security sources told Al Mayadeen.
A health official in the Egyptian city of el-Arish told Al Mayadeen that emergency teams will be transferred to the Rafah crossing to examine the patients arriving from Gaza, where they will also be assigned to hospitals in Egypt.
According to the health official, a field hospital will be set up in a 1,300 sq m area to receive the injured Palestinians in Sheikh Zuweid, 15 kilometers away from the crossing.
On its part, the Palestinian crossings and borders authority announced that the Egyptian authorities had informed it that 81 critically injured Palestinians will head to Egypt on Wednesday.
Sources told Al Mayadeen that a number of injured Palestinians as well as foreign passport holders will be allowed to cross into Egypt on Wednesday.

In the meantime, "Israel" continues its aggression on the Gaza Strip bombing and shelling residential areas, churches, mosques, and offices of non-governmental institutions leaving behind a mounting death toll.
Earlier on Tuesday, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that martyrs have fallen en masse in a new massacre committed by the occupation forces against civilians in the vicinity of the Indonesian hospital in the northern Gaza Strip.
Our correspondent added that the surgical operations in the hospital are being performed without anesthetics.
The casualties were transported to the Indonesian Hospital where they fell victim to another airstrike.
The Israelis bombed the Jabalia camp in the Gaza Strip using six bombs, each carrying one tonne of explosives, the Palestinian Interior Ministry in Gaza said. The aggression left around 400 casualties including 100 martyrs.
In its latest toll, the Ministry of Health in Gaza said that 8,525 have been martyred as a result of Israeli war crimes in the Gaza Strip. including 3,542 children and 2,187 women, as well as 21,543 injuries.
