Exclusive: Olivia Zemor says France complicit in criminalizing boycott of "Israel"
Olivia Zemmour, the head of the EuroPalestine movement, is falsely charged with anti-Semitism in France.
The head of the CAPJPO EuroPalestine movement and BDS activist Olivia Zemor is facing charges of anti-semitism from Israeli pharmaceutical company TEVA because she has been calling for its boycott.
Zemor, who is herself Jewish, told Al Mayadeen that anyone who stands by Palestine puts himself at risk of accusations of anti-Semitism and threats, highlighting double standards to positions related to "Israel"
She added that this is particularly the case in France because the French government contributes to the criminalizing of the boycott campaign of "Israel."
The BDS activist detailed how her position on Palestine led her to be attacked several times by the Kahana movement, one member being Gigory Shelley, who was convicted but fled to "Israel."
On Thursday, Zemor appeared before the criminal court of France for trial on charges of "defamation" and incitement to economic discrimination and anti-Semitism against the Israeli pharmaceutical company TEVA after she accused the company of complicity in apartheid and occupation.
Regarding Zemor's trial, the Samidoun network said TEVA had already been defeated in its attempt to silence the defense of Palestine and boycotting of "Israel."
The network published a video in which it confirmed that it stands with the struggles for justice in Palestine taking place in France.

Several organizations supporting the Palestinian cause have called for protests to be organized in several French cities, especially in Lyon, to protest against Zemor's summons to appear before the court.
Last month, German police removed an advocacy group for Palestinian rights from a student government meeting after pro-Palestinian students staged a protest over a bill preventing pro-BDS students from renting rooms at the university.
The advocacy group, Palestina Antikolonial, was accused of being a "threat to the Jewish students at the University of Munster" over its support of the BDS movement.
On Friday, a US federal court blocked the state of Texas from enforcing its 2019 ban on boycotting "Israel" against Palestinian-American civil engineer and contractor Rasmy Hassouna.
