Field Sources: A Drone Succeeded in Flying Over US Base in Deir Ez-Zor
Field sources reveal to Al Mayadeen that a Washington-led international coalition warplane managed to shoot down a drone that flew over the al-Omar oil field, the largest base of US occupation in the region.
Al Mayadeen field sources reported that a warplane of the Washington-led international coalition managed to shoot down a drone that flew over al-Omar oil field, which is the US occupation's largest base in the region.Â
The sources revealed that the shooting down took place on Sunday afternoon after the drone succeeded in flying for a short period of time over the American base in al-Omar oil field, in the eastern countryside of Deir Ez-Zor.
The sources estimated that the plane had succeeded in carrying out scouting missions in areas under US occupation after it had launched from areas under Syrian army control. The sources also pointed out that the shooting confirms that the violations of the US occupation and its illegal practices on Syrian territory are being monitored.
It is noteworthy that the bases of al-Omar and Koniko fields in the eastern countryside of Deir Ez-Zor were hit with rockets and mortars in 6 successive attacks, causing material damage.
Earlier, field sources had confirmed that the targeting operations aim to create tension in the ranks of the international coalition forces to affirm Syria's right to popular resistance against illegal forces on Syrian territory.Â
