Former Israeli Security Minister: 'Israel' ethnically cleansing Gaza
Last month, Israeli media reported a plan to ethnically cleanse northern Gaza and eliminate any Palestinians who remain there.
Moshe Ya'alon a former Israeli minister of security has said that "Israel" is currently carrying out ethnic cleansing in the northern Gaza Strip, effectively purging the area of Arabs.
Speaking on Democrat TV, Ya'alon asked, "Who is for separation (from the Palestinian territories)? This has nothing to do with the right or left. Separation means a state that is not bi-national, not an apartheid state, and perhaps, according to the direction they are leading us now, heading toward occupation, annexation, and ethnic cleansing."
He described the situation in northern Gaza, saying, "Look at what’s happening in the northern Gaza Strip. Transfer, call it whatever you want, and Jewish settlement – that is the issue. Look at the polls. 70% in all areas, more or less. Two-thirds of the Israeli public supports the first way, i.e., a Jewish democratic liberal state and separation. Therefore, we cannot afford to make a mistake."
He added, "Those who want us to make a mistake are leading us to destruction, and nothing less than that. (Did you say we are heading toward ethnic cleansing in Gaza?) Why are we heading there? What’s happening there? There is no Beit Lahia, no Beit Hanoun, and now they are working in Jabalia, and in reality, they are cleansing the area of Arabs."
Last month, Israeli media reported a plan to ethnically cleanse northern Gaza and eliminate any Palestinians who remain there.
Israeli reserve soldiers stationed in Gaza informed Haaretz they believe the "Generals' Plan" also known as the "Eiland Plan" is being put into action.
“The goal is to give the residents who live north of the Netzarim area a deadline to move to the south of the Strip. After this date, whoever will remain in the north will be considered an enemy and will be killed,” a soldier stationed in the Netzarim Corridor was quoted as saying.
The soldier stated that the plan does not adhere to any standards of international law.
Hamas calls for probe into banned weapons in northern Gaza
Earlier today, Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas called for the formation of an international commission to investigate the use of internationally banned weapons by the Israeli occupation forces in northern Gaza, which led to the vaporization of bodies.
The movement based its call on the horrific testimonies of citizens and doctors in northern Gaza after airstrikes and massacres targeting innocent civilians, confirming cases of targeting with weapons and ammunition that cause bodies to vaporize.
Hamas urged the international community and the United Nations to form a specialized international investigation committee to enter northern Gaza, uncover the nature of the munitions used by the Israeli occupation army, and investigate these unknown injuries and conditions. These have so far led to the martyrdom of nearly 3,000 Palestinians and the injury of more than 10,000, mostly children and women.
The movement stated that the international community, the United Nations, and Arab and Islamic countries are today responsible for stopping these ongoing violations and massacres in Gaza, which have continued for 420 days.
It also called for the swift prosecution of Israeli war criminals for their crimes against humanity.
Earlier in May, the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said it received testimonies indicating that bodies of Palestinians killed by the Israeli occupation in Gaza seemed to have "evaporated or melted," suggesting the use of prohibited thermal weapons in residential areas.
The Geneva-based rights group called for an international investigation into the matter, urging that an "international committee of experts must be established to look into the weapons Israel has been using as part of its genocide in the Gaza Strip .. including the potential use of bombs that produce such high heat that victims’ bodies evaporate."
