Iran on Friday executed four individuals convicted of collaborating with the Israeli Mossad spy agency and engaging in armed activities, including kidnappings, intimidation, and assault against security forces in the northwestern province of West Azarbaijan.

According to Mizan Online, the official news agency of the Judiciary, the four individuals were part of a ten-member sabotage group with ties to Mossad. The group's primary objective, the judiciary said, was to identify Iranian intelligence agents who were believed to be thwarting Israeli plots against Iran.

The four main convicts, consisting of three men and a woman, were hanged on Friday morning. They faced charges of "corruption on Earth" through intelligence cooperation with the Israeli occupation with the intent to undermine Iran’s security.

Their apprehension followed complex intelligence operations and close surveillance, with the report of their arrest being published in October 2022.

Nasser Atabati, the Head of the provincial Justice Department, revealed that the group operated under the direct supervision of Mossad officers. Their instructions included locating individuals affiliated with Iran's security apparatus and obtaining information through methods such as abduction, death threats, and brutal battery.

Atabati disclosed that the convicts had received financial support from Israeli agents and Mossad officers on multiple occasions for the tasks they had completed. Furthermore, the detainees were found to have communicated with Mossad officers through video calls. Their acts of sabotage were reportedly carried out in Iran’s northwestern West Azerbaijan Province, the capital Tehran, and the southern Hormozgan Province.

The official also highlighted that the group members had committed arson, setting fire to the homes and cars of individuals associated with Iranian security organizations. Additionally, they were implicated in several unsuccessful assassination attempts against Iranian security forces.

The Israeli occupation has long been attempting to sow discord in Iran and carry out malicious plots through sabotage and terrorism utilizing their Mossad intelligence agency and its recruitment of spies and saboteurs.

Mossad precedents

The Iranian Ministry of Defense's Intelligence Department in August announced that it foiled a plot aimed at Iran's defense infrastructure, which was designed by the Israeli Mossad.

A source at the department told national Iranian TV that "Over the past months, a completely professional network had plotted to bring faulty and equipped pieces into the supply chain of the production line of advanced missiles in the missile industries of the defense ministry through the cooperation of some infiltrating elements," adding that the network "fell in a trap spread by the intelligence forces at the defense ministry and it was dismantled."

Moreover, the source reaffirmed that the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, intended through the faulty parts, to "turn the produced missiles into an explosive tool to hit industrial lines and employees working in that field."

Significantly, the source further confirmed that the plot was "completely neutralized" and that the agents involved were all detained given that "despite the very complicated plot designed by the Zionist enemy, this action of the enemy was under intelligence and operational monitoring from the very beginning."
